SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The School of Continuing Education, one of the eight Faculties/Schools/Academy of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:
Information Technology Officer (Ref. No.: 24250134)
The appointee is expected to a) provide IT user support; b) support IT equipment procurement, installation, configuration, administration and maintenance; c) perform periodic checks and diagnosis of IT facilities, troubleshooting of hardware and software issues; d) update IT inventory records; e) perform computer systems information security risk identification and analysis; f) assist in server administration, user authentication and accounts management; and g) propose and develop potential IT solutions. Shift duties may be required.
Requirements:
Holder of Higher Diploma /Associate Degree / Degree in Computing / Information Technology or related disciplines;
Preferably 3 years’ solid post-qualification experience;
Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and
The ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Senior Programme Officer (Ref. No.:23241137)
The appointee will be responsible for coordinating and providing administrative support for matters related to quality assurance of the College of International Education (CIE). Major duties include: a) supporting curriculum development and revision; b) consolidating data for statistical analysis and reporting; c) providing secretarial support to committees; d) providing logistics support in the events of the College and School; e) assisting in the execution of initiatives of the College and School; and f) supervising supporting staff. The appointee will also be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant work experience;
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua);
Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
Good knowledge in the compilation of statistical data;
Proficiency in computer applications, including advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; and
Be able to work both independently and in a team.

Part-time Helper (Ref. No.: PRSCEP0076/24-25)
Salary : HK$70 per hour
The appointees will be required to provide clerical support to the Headquarters. Major duties include a) receiving visitors at the reception desk by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately; b) answering phone calls in a professional manner, screening and routing calls as necessary; c) receiving, sorting and distributing daily mail/deliveries; d) maintaining office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via reception desk; e) preparing meeting rooms; and f) assisting colleagues with administrative tasks.
Appointment Period:
3 months (with possibility of further appointment)
Working Location:
SCE Headquarters in Kowloon Tong
Working hours (Monday to Friday):
4-5 days per week - 09:00-13:00 or 14:00-18:00
Requirements:
Completed secondary education or equivalent;
Pleasant and polite;
Good customer service skills;
Attention to details; and
Relevant work experience is preferred.
