Executive Officer
Student Admissions and Administration Office (SAAO)
Responsibilities:
Provide secretarial and executive support to the Student Recruitment team;
Manage a full range of administrative duties related to undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment and admissions, including advising prospective students, assisting in recruitment events, and managing the application system;
Collaborate with departments and the SAAO regarding student recruitment and admissions;
Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
Hold a recognized bachelor's degree;
Possess strong interpersonal, information technology, and administrative skills;
Be highly proficient in both Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) and English;
Be a good team player, attentive to detail, highly self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
Head of Department
Key Responsibilities:
An academic leader responsible to ensure the effective operation and sustainable development of the Department. He/ she will be reporting direct to the Dean of Faculty of Science and Engineering. His/ her key responsibilities are as follows:
Provide leadership in the development of the Department to align with the College’s Strategic Plan and benefit the community at large
Ascertain the Department’s high-quality and innovation in teaching, research, scholarly activities and knowledge transfer
Ensure the Department’s effective operation in terms of human, financial and other resources;
Undertake teaching at postgraduate and/ or undergraduate level
Conduct and assist sub-ordinates to conduct researches that lead to publications in reputable journals and results in promoting advancement in the field;
Undertake such other duties as assigned by the Dean of Faculty or the Management level of the College from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications:
A Doctoral level in Civil Engineering and/ or a closely-related field
Substantial experience in a relevant senior academic position, relevant professional qualifications are not a must but preferred
Strong track record in knowledge, skills, research and scholarship in the area of Civil Engineering and/ or a closely-related field
Good understanding of and experience in local, regional and international higher education environment
Good interpersonal communication and effective resources management skills
Good networks in both academic and professional bodies at local, regional and international levels.
Manager
Ng Teng Fong. Sino Group Belt and Road Research Institute
Responsibilities:
To provide professional administrative support for the two Master Programmes of the Institute;
To provide administrative support in student activities and other matters related to the Institute;
To plan, co-ordinate and organize students study tours, seminars and events or other activities of the Institute;
To plan and implement marketing and promotional activities for all programmes of the Institute;
To provide secretarial service to committees and meetings;
To supervise junior staff in programme administration and related activities;
To liaise with internal departments, offices and external organizations for various events and activities, and
To perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Institute or his delegate.
Requirements:
A recognized degree with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification administration and managerial experience;
A strong problem-solving and leadership skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently;
An excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in English and Putonghua is required; and
Good in computer literacy, including Chinese word processing.
