Library Officer

The University Library is seeking a dynamic and collaborative team player to join its Digital Initiatives and Research Cluster (DIR). The successful candidate will be a proactive learner, contributing to a wide range of digital projects and digitisation efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Cluster’s social media team to coordinate activities across multiple social media platforms, proactively promoting in-house digital scholarship projects and fostering engagement with external communities;

  • Managing user-centric interface development for diverse types of digital scholarship projects, including UI/UX design, graphic design, and basic frontend programming;

  • Supporting project management for the Cluster’s digitisation initiatives, including liaison with material donors, scanning vendors, coordination with full-time and part-time staff;

  • Undertaking additional tasks as assigned; and

  • Shift counter duties are required.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant experience or a higher diploma with at least six years of experience. Familiarity with social media marketing and prior experience in digitisation projects are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity, strong communication skills, a service-oriented mindset, and meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in managing various social media platforms is required, with preference given to those with solid working knowledge of Figma, Webflow, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop. Fluency in English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua), along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, is crucial. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a written assessment.

Applicants with less experience may be considered for the rank of Assistant Library Officer.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Executive Assistant (Corporate Communications) (24250226)

Responsibilities:

Report to Head of Institutional Advancement and Corporate Communications and be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support the development of media communication strategies and collaborate with different teams to help facilitate positive media coverage through activities such as media interviews, press conferences, and publicity events;

  • Monitor media and social media coverage, assist in handling enquiries related to the Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong, and support the preparation of replies to stakeholders’ complaints;

  • Assist in the creation of press materials, including factsheets, Lines-to-take, Q&As, and messages for media engagement and issue management purposes;

  • Help maintain and update various communication platforms to support corporate branding;

  • Assist in drafting communication strategies and article write-ups / speeches for corporate events, media channels, and industry publications;

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required;

  • Provide administrative support to the team; and 

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s) from time to time.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or above, preferably with major in business, communications, public relations, language studies, journalism or related fields;

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in corporate communication, media relations, community relations, journalism or related fields is preferred;

  • Experience in hospital / health care industry is a plus;

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and contribute creatively. 

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in December 2025.  Subject to performance and the decision of the CMHHK, the offer of further appointment, if any, will be made by the CMHHK.

Work location: Kowloon Tong Campus and will be moved to Tseung Kwan O Chinese Medicine Hospital when close to commissioning.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Temporary Information Technology Assistant (24250195)

Salary: HKD14,440 per month

The appointee is expected to a) provide support and maintain the daily operation of computers, tablets, printers and other IT equipment; b) assist to maintain and update hardware inventory and software record; c) assist to work with vendors for maintenance and repair schedule of IT equipment; and d) perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Holder of Diploma / Associate Degree with some work experience;

  • Knowledge in general computer and printing support ;

  • Familiar with MS Windows and MS Office;

  • Good communication skills; and

  • Immediately available preferred.
