The appointee is expected to perform daily procurement duties including but not limited to the followings: 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Senior Purchasing Manager in the management of the procurement function;

  • Supervise the Assistant Purchasing Officers / Purchasing Officers for the daily routine procurement tasks;

  • Ensure proper internal control and governance of the procurement function;

  • Review and monitor the tender and quotation processes, ensure timely delivery of procurement of goods and services for various administrative offices, schools and faculties;

  • Conduct procurement analyses, compile management reports and board papers;

  • Liaise with internal departments and suppliers for implementing cost-effective purchasing initiatives or special projects; and

  • Any other procurement and administration duties assigned by the Senior Purchasing Manager.

Requirements: 

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree or above with at least 8 years relevant working experience of which 5 years in supervisory role is essential;

  • Proven procurement experience in a sizeable organisation is a must, and prior engagement in the educational institutions is preferred;

  • Professional qualification in procurement or supply chain management is a definite advantage;

  • Possess a can-do attitude, pleasant personality, impeccable integrity, excellent communication and problem-solving skills;

  • Be well-organised, proactive and service-oriented; and

  • Able to work both independently and as a good team player.

Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistant in Digital Media and Communication (25260424)

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant/Senior Research Assistant to contribute to ongoing research projects on AI-generated misinformation and online hate speech. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with a professional research team and gain hands-on research experience.

Responsibilities:

The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to support both research and administrative functions of the projects. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct literature reviews and support the research process, including data collection, analysis, and manuscript writing;

  • Coordinate daily project activities and ensure timely completion of project milestones;

  • Assist with grant proposal preparation;

  • Prepare reports and summaries, and handle administrative duties for the projects; and; and

  • Perform any additional research-related tasks assigned by the PI.

Requirements:

  • A master’s degree or higher in Communication, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a closely related discipline; candidates with a PhD are highly preferred;

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, as well as collaborate effectively within a research team;

  • Proven proficiency in both written and spoken English, with strong academic writing and presentation skills;

  • Solid experience in quantitative research methods, including designing and administering surveys or experiments, and analysing quantitative data with relevant statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R); and

  • Highly self-motivated, well-organised, responsible, and possessing good interpersonal and communication skills.

The appointment is expected to begin in January 2026 and will be offered for up to 12 months.

Assistant Academic Services Manager / Senior Academic Services Officer (25260443)

The appointee will be required to perform the following major duties in the Academic and Student Affairs Section of the School Registry.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, coordinating and executing outreach activities locally and outside Hong Kong such as programme admission talks, information booths and campus visits, and preparing materials for such activities. Travel to the Mainland and overseas may be needed;

  • Building and maintaining network with secondary schools;

  • Carrying out programme admission-related administrative duties such as supporting committees, engaging in programme promotion/admission events, etc.;

Responsibilities:

  • Order processing, invitations to tender, sourcing of goods and services, quotation analyses;

  • Arrange and execute central tenders/quotations in compliance with University’s policies and regulations;

  • Coordinate closely with various user departments to finalise the tender specifications and requirements to fulfill users’ purchase requisitions;

  • Source potential suppliers for different products and services for tenders/quotations;

  • Conduct tender and quotation invitations, price analysis and reports etc;

  • Make use of the University’s E-tender System for tenders/quotations, and Oracle System to issue purchase orders;

  • Arrange and attend site visits, tender interviews to deliver clear and precise tender requirements to suppliers and/or contractors;

  • Coordinate insurance compensation cases and serving as the primary liaison with the insurance company to ensure timely claims processing, accurate documentation, and compliance with statutory requirements;

  • Coordinate in furniture supply and security systems etc; and

  • Assist the Purchasing Manager for any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related disciplines with preferably one year of relevant work experience;

  • A good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel;

  • A strong analytical mind and sense of commitment;

  • Good initiative and interpersonal skills; and 

  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials System and qualified membership in procurement management are definite advantages.
