Field Service Engineer [MedTech]-2406224508W
Job Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Perform service, preventative maintenance, modifications and installations on J&J medical device products at customer sites with minimal supervision
Provide on-site customer repairs; responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs
Provide adequate training of operators to ensure optimal system performance, resulting in superior customer satisfaction
Work closely and collaboratively with fellow field team members, including Sales, Marketing, and Training to ensure customer success
Perform necessary administrative duties accurately
Keeps accurate records of service calls, maintains inventory of service parts, tools, and test equipment.
Follows safety practices as defined by the Company and/or the customer's site safety code
Maintain annual training compliance to meet company, industry, and customer site requirements
Job will generally be performed on customer site, typically at a Hospital or Medical Institution.
Customer site may have exposure to hazardous materials, waste, airborne particles and allergens.
Sometimes employees are furnished and required to wear safety gear, protective equipment, gloves that the job requires.
Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job
Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field
4 years’ experience in a service environment working with customers to resolve problems related to capital equipment including surgical robotic equipment or related medical diagnostic equipment
In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, 5 years’ experience & a 2-year technical school degree in an Engineering field.
Strong electronics and computer background needed
Strong proficiency in instrument systems technology to include mechanics, electrical, chemistry, and software technology
Proficient in the use of tools and service test equipment
Able to work both individually and in an established team setting
Self-starter with strong customer service skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in handling company resources
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and be able to utilize computer-based tools for reports, email and for general communication
Willing to work different shifts as business needs dictate
Travel may be required to support and provide service to other geographic regions
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation after training and certification is completed.
Requires the ability to work within a flexible work/travel schedule
Requires the ability to travel to customer sites on short notice and frequently requires the ability to work necessary hours to meet customer needs
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
