The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong (MYO) is a registered charity founded in 2003. Over the course of two decades, we've had the privilege of nurturing thousands of talented young musicians in Hong Kong. Orchestra Activity Assistant (part time)

Key responsibility

  • Maintain the routine operation of the orchestra and attend weekend rehearsal

  • Take responsibility for planning, organizing, and executing events / workshop / social services to keep the bounding between MYO & parents /students

  • Understanding and addressing parents & students' needs, resolving service-related issues

  • Greet and meet parents & students in a professional and polite manner

  • Communicate with conductors or coaches to get their feedback or comments for parents & students

  • Coordinate logistics for orchestra activities, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and equipment setup.

  • Communicate with team regarding schedules, rehearsals, and events.

  • Maintain organizational records, including attendance and inventory of instruments and materials.

  • Provide administrative support at office for 1-3 days.

  • Assist in ad hoc duties if requested

Qualifications

  • Senior Secondary Level (HKCEE/HKDSE) or above

  • Knowledge of classical music or orchestral instrument would be an advantage

  • Flexible working hours but punctual, able to work in weekends or public holiday

  • Excellent command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken

  • Creative, detail-minded and can stand under pressure with tight timeline

  • Good team player with excellent communication skills, adaptive and self- inflective

  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft office, video editing would be a plus.

Senior Project Officer

Duties:

  • Maintain the routine operation of the orchestra and attend weekly rehearsal

  • Facilitate the communication among the faculty and keep a harmonious relationship between parents and students

  • Event management – to plan, organize and promote music events

  • Copywriting - social media, concert and proposal

  • Development – to follow up existing sponsors and explore other source of funding

Attributes:

  • University graduate in music, communication, marketing or other related discipline with minimum 2 years of working experience (applicants with less experience would be considered for the position of Project Officer)

  • Knowledge of classical music or orchestral instrument would be an advantage

  • Flexible working hours, able to work in weekends or public holiday

  • Excellent command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken

  • Creative, detail-minded and can stand under pressure with tight timeline

  • Good team player with excellent communication skills

  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft office, video editing would be a plus.
