The Occupational Safety & Health Council is a statutory body established for the promotion of higher safety & health standards in Hong Kong. We are inviting applications for the following posts:
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (ACCOUNTS)
Duties:
To perform accounting duties and provide administrative support to the Accounting Team and other duties as assigned by the Council.
Requirements:
Grade E/Level 2 or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language, English Language ("Syllabus B" before 2007) and Mathematics in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination or Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or equivalent;
Diploma in Accounting from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution or a registered student of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Qualification Programme, or equivalent;
Good communication skills including written and spoken Chinese & English;
Good knowledge in computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Familiar with major accounting system will be an advantage;
Good English and Chinese (Changjie/Quick/Pinyin) typing skill;
Possession of good interpersonal skills / telephone manner, and a pleasant personality is a must:
Preferences will be given to those with 2-3 years solid working experience in accounting, but Fresh graduates are also welcomed.
The appointee would normally work on a 5-day week basis. Successful appointee will be employed on contract terms.

ASSISTANT MANAGER (PUBLICITY)
助理經理 (宣傳)
Duties:
To assist in planning, organizing projects/activities and drafting publications;
To support the administrative function of the Council including serving as committee secretary; and
Undertake other duties as assigned by the Council.
Requirements:
A recognized degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, with preferably 3 years of relevant working experience; applicants with less than 3 years relevant working experience will be considered for the post of Publicity Officer or Assistant Publicity Officer;
Working experience in public relations/marketing will be a definite advantage;
Possess an analvtical mind with excellent communication skills and genuine interest in community work;
With strong motivation and good interpersonal skill;
Must have a good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English; and
Good knowledge in computer applications.
The appointee would be required to work at non-office hours and undertake outdoor duties. Successful appointee will be employed on contract terms.

CONSULTANT I / II
Duties:
To assist in consultancy, training & education, publicity & information, research functions of the Council; and to undertake other duties as assigned by the Council.
Requirements:
A recognized bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, in science and engineering (relevant disciplines such as civil/ structural/ mechanical/ electrical engineering, construction management, statistics and data analysis, occupational safety and health, occupational hygiene, public health, health care and nutrition, etc.). Candidate without the relevant working experience but possesses a PhD degree in these disciplines may also be considered for the post;
Applicants for the post of Consultant I should have the qualification of Registered Safety Officer and 3 years relevant post-qualification working experience; applicants with less than 3 years relevant post-qualification working experience and/or qualifications will be considered for the post of Consultant Il:
Possession of post-qualification working experience in establishing occupational safety and health (OSH) management system; risk assessment, safety inspection and accident investigation; research and data analysis; OSH training and education; consultancy and promotion related duties will be an advantage;
Have in-depth knowledge of Hong Kong OSH Regulations & Standards, Code of Practices, and OSH good practices;
Possess an analytical mind with good communication skills and genuine interest in community work;
Good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English;
Strong motivation and good interpersonal skill;
Fresh graduates will be considered for the post of Associate Consultant.
