Dental Technologist

Monthly Salary : MPS Point 29 - 33, $69,205 - $83,140

Job Requirements

(a) Holder of Diploma in Dental Technology issued by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Prince Philip Dental Hospital, or equivalent;

(b) Attained Level 2/ Grade E or above in five subjects in HKDSEE or HKCEE, including Chinese Language and English Language/ English Language (Syllabus B) in pre-2007 HKCEE, or equivalent;

(c) A minimum of 12 years’ post-qualification experience as a dental technician of which at least 3 years in managerial level;

(d) Preference will be given to holders of one or more City and Guilds Advanced Certificates in Dental Technology or equivalent;

(e) Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with proficiency in spoken and written Chinese and English; and

(f) Proficient in computer applications and PC literate, including MS Word and MS Excel.

Major Duties

(a) Oversee the general management of all dental production laboratories;

(b) Keep and control the inventory and take custody of the Safe in the dental production laboratories;

(c) Train staff in the dental technician cadre and facilitate the Para-dental Training Centre’s laboratory practices when required;

(d) Prepare statistics and reports on the quality, production and staff of dental laboratories;

(e) Monitor and control the quality of production work of dental laboratories, including outsourcing matters, if any;

(f) Prepare the budget for all dental production laboratories;

(g) Plan and arrange training courses for dental technicians and identify training needs within the Dental Technology Unit;

(h) Plan and develop strategies for the renovation and upgrading of dental laboratories; and

(i) Introduce modern dental technologies, new materials and new applications to enhance dental services.

Package

Five-day week, 18 days’ annual leave and medical/ dental benefits. Successful candidates will be offered appointment at the entry point, MPS Point 29 ($69,205) per month with a two-year contract which is renewable, subject to satisfactory performance. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Hospital’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

Certificated Dental Surgery Assistant (Year-round Recruitment)

MPS Point 5 – 17 $19,930 - $39,490

Job Requirements

(a) Holder of a Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Surgery Assisting/ Diploma in Dental Surgery Assisting issued by The Prince Philip Dental Hospital, or equivalent.

Remark: Applicants obtaining the required qualifications in Aug/ Sep 2026 will also be considered.

Major Duties

(a) Assist the operators at various dental clinics in the treatment of patients and teaching-related matters; and

(b) Facilitate in patient care, administration, supplies and general cleanliness associated with clinics.

Package

Five-day week, 14 days’ annual leave and medical/ dental benefits. Successful candidate will be offered appointment at the entry point, MPS Point 5 ($19,930) per month with a two-year contract which is renewable, subject to satisfactory performance. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Hospital’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
