Certificated Dental Surgery Assistant (Year-round Recruitment)

MPS Point 5 – 17 $19,930 - $39,490

Job Requirements

(a)   Holder of a Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Surgery Assisting/ Diploma in Dental Surgery Assisting issued by The Prince Philip Dental Hospital, or equivalent.

Remark:   Applicants obtaining the required qualifications in Aug/ Sep 2026 will also be considered.

Major Duties

(a)   Assist the operators at various dental clinics in the treatment of patients and teaching-related matters; and

(b)   Facilitate in patient care, administration, supplies and general cleanliness associated with clinics.

Package

Five-day week, 14 days’ annual leave and medical/ dental benefits.  Successful candidate will be offered appointment at the entry point, MPS Point 5 ($19,930) per month with a two-year contract which is renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.  An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct.  The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Hospital’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

Hospital Dental Officer (Part-time) for the discipline of (1) Endodontology and (2) Prosthodontics

Salary:$2,115 per a four-hour session

Job Requirements

(a)   Obtained full registration with the Dental Council of Hong Kong in accordance with the Dentists Registration Ordinance (Cap 156, Hong Kong Laws);

(b)   At least 3 years’ post qualification experience (clinical experience gained from postgraduate studies will also be recognised);

(c)   Possess a valid practising certificate issued by The Dental Council of Hong Kong;

(d)   Secure a medical malpractice insurance;

(e)   Possess a valid Licence for Use of Irradiating Apparatus on Human Body;

(f)   Have good communication skills; and

(g)   Candidates in possession of higher academic achievements and/or post-qualification professional experience will have a definite advantage. 

Major Duties

(a)   Supervision of the screening of patients and treatments by Training Support Dental Officers (TSDOs) and provisionally registered dentists under the Dental Internship Programme;

(b)   Delivery of dental treatments and services related to teaching independently, including liaison with other clinical areas for patients requiring dental care;

(c)   Supervision and assessment of clinical activities performed by student dental hygienists;

(d)   Delivery of seminars to students of paradental courses and participation in outreach activities;

(e)   Delivery of emergency treatments, patient care and provisional oral health education in particular for teaching of dental students and cases deemed too difficult for various reasons to be dealt with by undergraduate students or TSDOs;

(f)   Provision of assistance in the delivery of teaching and research related activities in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong; and

(g)   Any other duties as assigned by Senior Dental Officer, the Clinic Manager of the designated Clinic, Comptroller and Director.

Package

Successful candidates will be offered appointment at $2,115 per a four-hour session with a fixed-term contract of not more than one year.  Number of clinical sessions to be appointed depends on availability and operational needs.  Paid annual leave and statutory leave would be offered to those working 5 or more sessions per week.
