The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) is an independent and not-for-profit statutory body which administers public examinations in Hong Kong. Our scope of responsibility extends to administering over 200 international and professional examinations. We are looking for talented people to join hands with the HKEAA family in contributing to the provision of valid, reliable and equitable examinations and a range of assessment services to meet the educational and societal needs of the community. Research Intern (Ref: ATR/12/202)

Date for Application Review: 3 February 2025

To nurture educational testing talents and strengthen the cooperation with academia, the Assessment Technology and Research Division (ATRD) of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) is offering a four to eight weeks’ research work for Doctoral students in 2025. The admitted applicants will work with HKEAA researchers to conduct a research project with either remote or face to face arrangements.

What to expect:

To carry out a research project from project initiation, literature review, data collection, data analysis, report writing and sharing of results under the mentorship of ATRD, with deliverables of an internal research presentation, and possibly a conference submission and/or a paper submitted for publication. Current ATRD projects include:

  • Optimization of public exam designs from psychometric perspectives

  • Rater effects in public exams

  • Testlet effects associated with different question designs

  • Workflow and data analysis design in CAT/MST/CCT

  • A CAT/MST/CCT model in the HKDSE Diagnostic Feedback System

  • In-depth study using the Hong Kong data from PIRLS

  • AI technology pilots to enhance the efficiency and quality of the assessment process

Applicants may also propose research topics based on their experience and interests that may be aligned with HKEAA’s research directions and priorities.

Duration:

Four to Eight weeks between June and August 2025. (The internship window may be adjusted for the convenience of the admitted applicant with prior approval from HKEAA)

Who may apply:

Doctoral students currently enrolled (or graduated in 2025) in programmes related to psychometrics, educational measurement, psychology, statistics, or data science at university.

Part Time Senior Officer – Information Technology (Project Management)

Application Review Date: 10 January 2025

Duties: The incumbent will report to team manager and undertake project manager role in some digital transformation projects in the Authority, duties include:

(a) Lead the project team and drive new system implementation, provide quality assurance and control;

(b) Provide project administrative services like drafting specification, budgeting, conducting project meeting, providing progress updates and reporting;

(c) Interface and bridge with different counterparties like PMO, business users, IT technical professionals, and contractors;

(d) Review, implement and enforce PM framework and best practice in IT Projects;

(e) Oversee project lifecycle and gatekeep project quality; and

(f) Assist in supporting project tendering, procurement processing and contract management.

Requirements:

(a) A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management or related disciplines;

(b) At least 6 years’ working experience with minimum of 3 years’ PM experience in large-scale system implementation, especially in IT security/infrastructure projects and/or emerging technologies;

(c) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels;

(d) PMP certification, holding of any IT professional/technical certificate is an advantage;

(e) Working with 'can-do' attitude, detail minded, independent and agility;

(f) Strong presentation, problem-solving and vendor management skills;

(g) Good communication skills in both spoken and written Chinese and English; and

(h) Candidate with less experience will also be considered.

Temporary Information Technology Assistant(Contract period for 1 year)

Duties: The appointee will be responsible for problem-solving on PC, printer and network issues, internet services support, user training and assisting in the implementation of office automation. The primary work location would be at Lai King or San Po Kong, the appointee may also be required to work at other HKEAA premises upon the request of the Authority.

Requirements:

(a) Diploma or above in Computer Science or related discipline;

(b) Around 1 year of relevant working experience in helpdesk and office automation, familiar with general desktop software e.g. MS Office, Windows, Microsoft 365 products and Zoom online meeting;

(c) Good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English;

(d) Willing to be on call and work irregular hours;

(e) Pleasant, customer–oriented and be a good team player; and

(f) Holders of MCP, MCSA or MCSE and/or relevant would be an advantage.

Candidate who completed secondary education, with at least 3 years’ experience in IT support / application support / desktop support experience will also be considered.

Data Centre Operations Assistant

Application Review Date: 10 January 2025

Duties: The incumbent will report to the team lead and provide the support for Data Centre Operations, including:

(a) Provide routine operation support and system monitoring of IT systems and services;

(b) Carry out system operation according to defined procedures and escalate problems where required;

(c) Perform scheduled IT system maintenance and housekeeping jobs;

(d) Assist in site preparation work, management of IT assets and external suppliers and response to the ad-hoc incidents;

(e) Perform other support duties as assigned by supervisors; and

(f) Normally around 9 hours shift from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm on weekdays, with standby shift in irregular hours (including Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday) by request.

Requirements:

(a) Form 7/ DSE graduate or above; computer-related qualification is an advantage;

(b) Experience in data centre operations/ help desk support is preferred;

(c) Good communication and interpersonal skills, willing to learn, responsible and can work independently;

(d) On-the-job training will be provided.

Candidate with less experience or fresh graduates will also be considered.

Temporary Officer – Information Technology (Systems Management)

Date for Application Review: 31 December 2024

Duties: The incumbent will report to team manager and play the role of IT systems engineer to support the Authority’s IT infrastructure, including:

(a) Develop, maintain and enforce Infrastructure Policy, Standard and Guideline in accordance with industry standard, best practice and relevant regulatory requirements;

(b) Implement new system solutions of backup, smart monitoring and server visualization etc;

(c) Lead the system operations transformation, incident management and work with Cyber Security Team for systems security enhancement; and

(d) Supervise and work with contractors and server and systems support personnel for project implementation and BAU support.

Requirements:

(a) A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines;

(b) At least 5 years’ working experience in IT infrastructure, especially large-scale system infrastructure management and incident management experience is an advantage;

(c) Familiar with products in the market, strong technical know-how and hands on experience in one or multiple domains:

  • Unix/Linux/Windows systems (on-premises and on Cloud)

  • Server Technology and SAN/NAS Storage

  • Microsoft 365 and SaaS application adoption

  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Server and Systems Vulnerability Management;

(d) Understand the international standard and best practice in ISO20000/27001, ITIL and/or Security and Risk Management;

(e) Holder of professional certificates in Microsoft 365, VMware, ITIL, PMP, CISSP or equivalent will be advantageous;

(f) Work with 'can-do' attitude, strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and

(g) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese

Temporary Officer – Information Technology (Infrastructure Management)

Date for Application Review: 31 December 2024

Duties: The incumbent will report to team manager and play the role of IT infrastructure engineer to support the Authority’s IT infrastructure, including:

(a) Develop, maintain and enforce Infrastructure Policy, Standard and Guideline in accordance with industry standard, best practice and relevant regulatory requirements;

(b) Participate in the Datacentre Transformation Project to implement new solutions of backup, smart monitoring and server virtualization and etc;

(c) Lead the datacentre operations transformation, incident management and work with Cyber Security Team for infrastructure security enhancement;

(d) Supervise contractors and datacentre operators; and

(e) Work with contractors for project implementation and BAU support.

Requirements:

(a) A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines.

(b) At least 5 years’ working experience in IT infrastructure, especially next-generation datacentre transformation project and infrastructure refreshment experience is an advantage.

(c) Familiar with products in the market, strong technical know-how and hands on experience in one or multiple domains:

  • Server and system backup solutions

  • HCI, Server virtualization technology

  • Server Technology (Windows and Linux on-premises and on Cloud)

  • Datacentre facilities, BMS, IoT

(d) Understanding in international standard and best practice in ISO20000/27001, ITIL and/or Security and Risk Management

(e) Holder of professional certificates in CDCP, ITIL, PMP, CISSP or equivalent will be advantageous

(f) Working with 'can-do' attitude, strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and

(g) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Employment Terms:

The remuneration package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be on a temporary contract with MPF benefits.

臨時行政助理 (短期/長期)
