Senior Executive Assistant (Ref.: H03/2023/14)

Organizational Background

The long-term objective of the Centre for Oncology and Immunology is to employ novel functional screens, animal and cell models including organoids, immuno-oncology approach, as well as advanced genomic and proteomic techniques down to single cell resolution to identify novel “druggable” cancer targets for hard-to-treat malignancies. The ultimate goal is to develop therapeutics against these targets and to conduct clinical trials evaluating these drugs along with biomarkers with an eye to their eventual commercialization worldwide. Success in this venture will address pressing unmet medical needs and establish Hong Kong as a leading hub of innovative anti-cancer and immuno-oncology drug development.

Job Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Executive Assistant (Ref.: H03/2023/14), to commence as soon as possible, on a fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

  • Assist in a full spectrum of secretarial, administrative and clerical support to senior management whilst maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Coordinate and schedule various operational meetings; maintain and coordinate senior management’s calendar; prepare, record and disseminate calendar of events

  • Serve as a resource to communicate and collaborate with a variety of internal and external parties, including secretaries of senior management, government/ industry partners to exchange information, resolve issues or concerns and coordinate activities

  • Coordinate travel arrangements such as flight itineraries, hotel bookings, and accommodation for the management team as well as for special guests

  • Provide a full range of support on event management, including organisation, communication, logistics coordination among event teams, on-site assistance and catering

  • Implement digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing and social media advertising to raise the profile and enhance the reputation of the Centre

  • Compile and produce content for both online (social media platforms, websites) and offline communication materials for internal and external consumption

Qualifications and Skills:

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, English studies or a related field, preferably with more than 3 years of relevant experience in university/research Centre setting with secretarial, content development and event management exposures. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and strong communication skills, team player, self-motivated, organized, detail-minded, hardworking, willing to learn new techniques, and able to work well in a multidisciplinary team. Prior experience in international communication across different cultures will be a merit.

The appointee shall work in Hong Kong Science and Technology Park.

Research & Development Technician (Ref: H03/2023/06)

Job Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for appointment as Research & Development Technician (Ref.: H03/2023/06), to commence as soon as possible, on a fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

The appointees are expected to assist collaborative research projects in discovery of cancer biomarkers using large scale multi-omics approach, organoid technology and novel animal models, as well as anti-cancer or immuno-oncology drug development.

Qualifications and skills:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor degree or above, preferably in Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines, with at least 1 year of experience in providing technical support to end-users and maintenance of lab equipment. He/She would also need to assist in the daily operation of a biomedical research laboratory. Relevant work experiences at the local universities and research core facilities will be an asset.

Familiar with relevant research techniques in FACS analysis, Molecular Biology, CRISPR technologies, Single Cell Technologies, Next Generation Sequencing, 2D/3D Tissue Culture, PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, Cloning, or Drug screening would be an advantage.

The applicants should have a good command of written and spoken English and strong communication skills, team player, self-motivated, organized, detail- minded, hardworking, willing to learn new techniques, and able to work well in a multidisciplinary team.

The appointee shall work in Hong Kong Science and Technology Park.

IT Specialist (Ref: H03/2023/11)

Job responsibilities:

Applications are invited for appointment as IT Specialist (Ref.: H03/2023/11), to commence as soon as possible, on a fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.

The appointee is expected to provide day-to-day end-user technical support (both software and hardware) and troubleshooting services to researchers and admin team of the R&D Centre. He/She will be responsible for providing IT technical/audio-visual support to Centre’s events and should be familiar with video conference solutions (Microsoft Teams and Zoom). The successful candidate will be required to assist with the management and maintenance of the Centre’s network infrastructure, computer servers and NAS as well as to implement internal data security policies to enhance Centre’s cyber security.

Other responsibilities include supporting and administering anti-virus control on all computer hardware; providing emergency support in relation to security operations; performing hardware/software deployments and upgrades; managing/maintaining up-to-date inventory records for IT-related equipment; liaising with external vendors to deliver IT products, services and solutions for Centre’s operation; managing website and in-house web applications, providing in-house IT trainings and inductions to Centre’s staff; and performing any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills:

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably with Information Technology background and System Information knowledge. Those with some relevant hands-on experience in Windows and Linux server administration and operations, establishment or set-up of data centre infrastructure, cyber security or PC and software configuration are preferred. A basic programming knowledge in Python, C/AL, AL, HTML, CSS, Java or JavaScript would be an asset. High-calibre fresh graduates with passion in learning new technologies and tools are also welcome to apply.
